My name is Rama. I live far from the Sahel, but the Sahel has never left me.

Like many diaspora mothers, I watched my children grow up surrounded by a language that wasn't mine, in a culture that wasn't quite that of their ancestors. And one day I asked myself the question that changed everything: if I don't pass on Soninke to them now, who will?

Les Graines du Sahel was born from this simple and urgent need: to give diaspora children concrete, beautiful and fun tools to learn their native language.

Not textbooks. Not austere lessons. Games. Colors. Stories that can be touched, colored, manipulated as a family.

Every card, every coloring page, every poster is designed so that a child can, by playing, hear and pronounce the words of their grandparents.

Because a language that is passed on is a root that holds firm. And a root that holds firm is a child who knows where they come from, no matter where they go next.
